A new £2.3m extension and redevelopment of an existing grade II building to provide a dining hall and kitchen, new classrooms, and a digital study space at Princes Mead School, Winchester.

SRE has assessed viable technologies to provide expected energy generation and emissions savings for the scheme. From design and construction phases to practical completion, SRE are undertaking BREEAM New Construction 2014 Assessments to ensure Winchester City Council’s sustainable planning policy requirements are achieved. A Low Zero Carbon Feasibility Study has also been prepared in support of the BREEAM Assessment for the new extension, and SBEM and an EPC has been carried out to ensure the development complies with building regulations.

SRE have provided a detailed analysis of predicted daylight levels within the proposed development. Our energy specialists have assessed overheating risk and thermal comfort conditions and have offered advice on optimising U-Values, glazing properties, lighting gains and shading.

"SRE have consistently provided a clear, and concise service to us for BREEAM Assessment since 2014. Their methods take the pain of paper-chasing away from what can be seen as a bureaucratic process and leave the design team free to concentrate on other aspects of the project."
