Premier Inn Leisureplex in Cork is an ambitious 173-room development being designed to meet stringent sustainability requirements from the earliest design stages.

Targeting BREEAM 'Outstanding', the hotel aims to achieve reduced energy consumption, reduced embodied carbon, full renewable energy reliance and enhanced user comfort. It is also using locally sourced and/or responsibly procured materials.

SRE has been instrumental in supporting Premier Inn's ambitious sustainability goals. We provided early-stage design guidance to ensure compliance with BREEAM from the outset. The services we are providing include Dynamic Simulation Modelling (DSM) to meet energy efficiency standards, an Energy and Sustainability Statement incorporating Passive Design Analysis and LZC Feasibility Studies and Thermal Comfort and TM54 modelling to optimise occupant wellbeing.

These efforts collectively ensure the project is on track to achieve its BREEAM 'Outstanding' target while prioritising renewable energy, reduced embodied carbon and improved user comfort.

"SRE repeatedly prove to be extremely valued and members of the design team on all projects in which we are jointly involved. Their expertise and proactive approach to sustainability and energy performance have been invaluable in ensuring our projects meet high environmental and efficiency standards. The team consistently provides clear, actionable advice, supporting us to navigate complex requirements. We greatly value our collaboration with SRE, as demonstrated by our recent recommendation of their services to others within the industry and we look forward to working with them again on future developments."
