A development of flats and houses on a former bowling green with a mandate to achieve ‘Passivhaus’ principles, as well as CSH Level 3 to 5 as part of local planning policy requirements.
SRE supported the developer and the contractor in delivering an all-electric scheme which included the use of triple glazing, Porotherm blocks, rainwater harvesting and photovoltaics. The scheme achieved a high level of air tightness and thermal resistance whilst maintaining the integrity of the original design for a modern terrace to match the surrounding 19th century housing and flats.
SRE is also undertaking a two-year post construction monitoring programme, in which all aspects of building performance are being monitored, analysed and compared to those predicted during the design process as part of a Post Occupancy Evaluation.
