This iconic, contemporary, metal clad building which spans a main arterial route into Portsmouth and links two communities, is known as Somerstown Community Centre. The building is a hub providing healthcare, housing and community services.
SRE is completing the BREEAM Bespoke and Healthcare assessments and advised the contractor on how to achieve the relevant ‘Very Good’ and ‘Excellent’ ratings in order to address Portsmouth City Council planning policy and NHS funding requirements.
As part of delivering the high BREEAM standards the building includes centralised CHP, air source heat pumps and rainwater harvesting to provide significant resource savings.
