Quebec House, Kingston

Client:

Kingston University

Main contractor:

Architect:

A hall of residence providing 130 student beds in a six-storey building with retail space on the ground floor.

The London Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames Local Plan required 20% CO2 emissions offset from onsite renewable energy generation and the achievement of BREEAM multi-residential.

SRE provided Energy and Sustainability Statements in support of planning permission and completed the BREEAM Multi-Residential Assessment to achieve a ‘Very Good’ rating. On-site energy generation includes CHP and both roof and facade mounted PV arrays to meet the planning requirements.

"Quebec House student accommodation is designed to a high standard of comfort, access and sustainability. SRE were instrumental in achieving our client’s aims for the site and their assistance in designing solar panels and cladding, harvesting rainwater systems and recycling of waste was invaluable."
