Fossetts Farm is the proposed development of a purpose-built 21,000-seat stadium for Southend United Football Club along with 850 new homes, shops, restaurant, hotel, cinema and four full-sized grass football pitches.
SRE completed the Microclimate Analysis of the proposed Southend United stadium and mixed-use development to ensure the pedestrian comfort levels meet the Lawson Comfort Criteria for the development, and to inform the technical aspects of the Environmental Statement. The work involved detailed computational fluid dynamic modelling and an assessment of the eight most prevalent wind directions to determine the outcomes for the overall design.
Working closely with the client and design team SRE has ensured the scheme design and layout delivered appropriate comfortable public realm space around the stadium and adjacent buildings.
