WELL Building Standard

The WELL Building Standard is a comprehensive building assessment tool focusing on the health and well-being of the people living and working in a space. Not only is it a laudable objective in itself, it is seen as an effective way of increasing a business’s return on investment. Staff costs account for a large proportion of expenditure in most office buildings and many aspects of the WELL standard reduce sick days and improve productivity. WELL-certified spaces can command higher rental values.

The WELL Building Standard combines best practices in design and construction with evidence-based health and scientific research. Using seven categories – air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort and mind – the WELL standard includes strategies to improve the overall nutrition, fitness, mood, productivity, and performance of those using the building.

SRE’s accredited WELL AP consultants advise on WELL Building Standard projects, consulting with the design and construction team in any capacity. We also have the required specialist energy and dynamic modelling consultants in-house to provide specific feature advice and cater for the additional reports required for WELL evidence.
